MASON CITY: Doris B. Patridge, 86, of Mason City, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 13, 2011, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with an Eastern Star and White Shrine Service being held at 6:30 PM. Interment will be held in Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Wa-Tan-Ye, or the Mason City Masonic Temple.

Doris was born July 10, 1924, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the identical twin daughter of Paul and Mabel (Cory) Goodman. She grew up on a farm near Lime Springs. After graduating high school from Lime Springs, she attended Upper Iowa University, where she met her husband, Charles Patridge. The couple was married on August 11, 1944, in Chester, IA, and had four children. Doris would also become a mother of three young children for a short time after the death of her sister in-law in 1959. She was always employed full-time while she was a mother and housewife. She worked for Mason City First National Bank where she was employed for 25 years. She was active in the Masonic Temple, White Shrine, Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, Wa-Tan-Ye, and also a volunteer in the gift shop at Mercy Medical Center West Campus and Nomad Missions. Doris hands were never idle, as she enjoyed sewing, bowling, camping, canning, making grape or strawberry jams and cookies for her friends at The Manor, and visiting her children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in a UMW Circle.

Doris is survived by her four children, Donald and wife, Connie (Suthers) Patridge of Davenport, IA, and their sons, Daniel and Adam, Patricia and her husband, Erhart Hehr of Oelwein, IA, and their sons, Karl and Keith, Kathrine and her husband, Philip Hayes of Hopkinsville, KY, and their son, Aaron, Paul and his wife, Chris (Lowe) Patridge of Maynard, IA, and his children, Heath, Kelly, Benjamin, Jennifer, and Nicholas Patridge, and Shawn Pont; 10 great grandchildren; twin sister, Dorothy Steinert of Newell, IA; brother, Corwin (Anita) Goodman of Cresco, IA; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Charles; sister, Alice Dieken.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Wa-Tan-Ye, or the Mason City Masonic Temple.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held in Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard, Iowa.
