Doris A. Francis

Doris Arlene Francis, age 78, of 1037 19th Street SW, died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the IOOF Home & Community Therapy Center, 1037 19th Street SW, with Pastor David Byrd officiating. Memorials may be directed to the IOOF Home (Memorial Garden). Doris Armstrong was born on November 16, 1935, in Albert Lea. She attended school in Albert Lea before moving to Mason City, IA around 1966. Doris worked as a waitress at a variety of Mason City establishments, including the Historic Park Inn. Doris enjoyed being surrounded by friends and had a great love of music. She especially enjoyed Elvis Presley. On March 14, 1989, Doris was united in marriage to Duane R. Francis of Rockwell. The couple resided in Mason City. Doris joined the family at the IOOF Home & Community Therapy Center in 2008. Doris is survived by her friends and family of the IOOF Home; her mother-in-law: Delores Francis of Rockwell; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dan & Marcia Francis of Arvada, CO, Sue (Dick) True of Mason City, Trish Francis of Burlingame, CA, Dennis Francis of Rockwell, Mike & Sheryl Francis of Mason City, Karen (John) Hogen of Mason City, and Matt & Chris Francis of Hudson, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Rose Marie; her brothers: Jack and Roger Armstrong; her husband Duane in 2000; and a sister-in-law: Denise Luescht.
