Donna E. Browning, 78, of 815 6th Place SE, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 1st St. NE with Rev. Patti Aurand officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa or the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Donna was born June 17, 1928 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota the daughter of Martin and Helen (Anderson) Hattam. She graduated from high school in Council Bluffs, Iowa and later attended and graduated from North Iowa Area Community College. Donna married Dean Browning September 1, 1948 in Council Bluffs. She worked for American State Bank here in Mason City and also as a window decorator for Morel Jeweler?s and Bergo?s. She most recently had worked in the marketing department at North Iowa Area Community College and while at NIACC helped organize the student newspaper. Donna was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school, PEO and Study Club. Donna is survived by her husband, M. Dean Browning of Mason City; son, Dean M. (Keri) Browning of Denver, Colorado; daughters, Rozan (Ken) Lockhart of Naples, Florida, Cathy Browning (Mark Belich) of Duluth, Minnesota; 1 grandson, Nic Blanchard of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Gloria (Norm) Fischer of Eugene, Missouri; sister-in-law, Gladys Hattam of Omaha, Nebraska. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother.
