Dixie Mae Mineart

Dixie Mae Mineart, 71, of 827 6th St. S.W. #3, died Thursday (December 23, 2004) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Jo Frahm-Watkins of the First Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Dixie Mae Mineart fund. Dixie was born May 14, 1933 in New Albin, Iowa the daughter of Stanley and Gladys (Thimmesch) Irons. She graduated from New Albin High School in 1951. Dixie enjoyed league bowling, reading in her spare time, quilting for family, embroidery work and working on the computer. She was a member of the Methodist faith and also a past member of the Loyal Order Women of the Moose. Dixie is survived by her children Gary Darling and wife Jill of Fort Collins, Colorado; Jean Hauan and husband Michael of New Auburn, Minnesota; Vicki Richardson of Mason City; Susan Martin and husband Michael of Hartford, Vermont; Alvin Mineart and wife Jennifer of Ellicott City, Maryland; Nancy Roberts and husband Gene of Littleton, Colorado; Gary Mineart of Nora Springs; Michael Mineart and wife Holly of Gray Maine; Susan Van Horn and husband Terry of Mason City and Mark Mineart; grandmother of twenty one; great-grandmother of twelve; sister, Sandra Richards and husband Virgil of Piedmont, South Dakota; sister, Sheryl Welper of New Albin, Iowa and brother Robert Dresselhaus and wife Sandra also of New Albin, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Dixie is preceded in death by her parents; second husband, LaVernon Mineart; and grandson Steven Smith JR.
