MASON CITY: Diana Trask, 90, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th St. S.E., with Pastor Paul Nelson and Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 PM 7:30 PM on Friday, January 9, 2009, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Diana Trask Memorial Fund.\r\n

Diana was born September 29, 1918 in Buffalo Center, IA, the daughter of William and Helen (Meinders) Kardoes. She married James Trask on December 26, 1940 in Buffalo Center. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was involved in many church activities. Diana was a Homemaker. She enjoyed being with her family and spending the summers with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, needle work, crossword puzzles, playing the piano and singing. Music was very important to her. \r\n

She is survived by her children: Bill Trask and wife Linda of Mason City, Helen Wilhite and husband Jim of Boone, IA, Shirley Trask of Mason City, Judy Nessett and husband Bob of Mason City; 7 grandchildren: Todd Wilhite (Kathy), Tori Wilhite, Jaime Nessett, Ashley Schutz (Paul), Jennifer Trask (Bryan), Jeff Trask (Lisa) and Jason Trask (Erin); 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; one sister: Fannie Rockow of Belmond, IA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.\r\n
\r\n
She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1983, her parents; her sister: Vergie Beenken; her brother: Anko Kardoes.
