Dennis R. Slater

GRAFTON: Dennis Slater, 65, of rural Grafton, IA, died Thursday, November 6, 2014, at his home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Dennis Slater memorial fund in care of the family. Dennis wanted everyone to know how much he loved his family and friends, especially the babies and kids. He enjoyed woodworking, bike riding, bird watching, gardening, camping, fishing, talking, reading, music, history, and nature. He is survived by his wife Janis; his father, Rev. Richard (Gwen) Slater; Bonne Terre, MO; sisters: Barbara Pecoraro, St. Louis, MO and sons: Seth, Thaddeus, and Jonathan; Vicki Brunk, Ironton, MO and children: Teri, Matthew, Tabitha, and Joseph; Marcia (Paul) VanCamp, Duluth, MN and children: Jeremy, Tonya, and Nathan; brother-in-law: Ronald (Jo) Price, Rockwell, IA, and children Dustin, Mason City and Holli and her children: Jaylen, Danajua, Deaira, Dakieran, Mason City; brother-in-law, Steven Price, Joice, IA, and children: Bridgette, Mason City; Chad (Sam) their daughter, Harper, Parkersburg, IA; Matt (Crystal) and children: Brayden and Alexsia, Forest City; Renee (Eric) McGuire, Appleton, WI; Rachel, Columbus, OH. Preceding him in death was his mother, Hazel; sisters: Diana Kay Slater and Kay Estella Slater; father and mother-in-law: Edwin and Della Price.
