Dean E. Metz

MANLY: Dean E. Metz, 56, of Manly died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at home.  Private family memorial services will be held at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, at a later date with Rev. David Kucera, Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Inurnment will take place in the Dumont Cemetery, Dumont.  Memorials may be given to the Dean E. Metz Memorial Fund.  Dean was born January 21, 1952 in Charles City, Iowa the son of Merle and Bernice (Herman) Metz.  Dean worked in maintenance and as a machinist for Wellborn Industries, Woodharbor and most recently J&J Machine.  Some of his interests included fishing, carpentry, cars and spending time with his grandchildren. 
 
Dean is survived by his wife, Noreen of Manly; daughter, Sandy Anderson and husband Andy of Austin, Minnesota; sons, Joe Metz and wife Shelley of Iowa Falls and Chad Metz and wife Tricia of Bennington, Nebraska; grandchildren, Jasmine and Jared Anderson, Ethan, Tiana, and Hannah Metz and Chase Metz; siblings, Jerry Metz of Austin, Minnesota, Doris Prause and husband Larry of Aredale, Ruth Norem and husband Carol of Iowa Falls and Steven Metz and wife Hilda of Hampton; many nieces and nephews. 
 
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tracy; brother, James and 2 nephews, Clarence and Todd.
