David M. Wojcik

David M. Wojcik, 54, of Mason City, IA, died Monday, November 2, 2015. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a time of sharing at 5:30 PM on Monday, November 9, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the David Wojcik memorial fund in care of the family.

David was born December 3, 1960, in Baltimore, MD, the son of Bernard Wojcik and Virginia (Brann). He graduated from Salina High School in 1978, and continued his education at Union College in Lincoln, NE with a BA of Arts in Theology. On May 16, 1981, David married Glenda Wares and to this union three sons were born, the couple later divorced.

David was an artisan and an entrepreneur who had a passion for living. Throughout his life he pursued many professions including minister, printer, boat builder, and commercial driver. Through music, science and poetry, David was a renaissance man who explored the deepest matters of the heart.

David was a loving son, father, grandfather and husband survived by three sons: Adrian Wojcik and spouse Odessa Adams of Santa Barbara, CA, along with their son Orion Wojcik, David Wojcik of Olympia, WA, and Andrew Wojcik of Ames, IA; his father: Bernard Wojcik, 2 sisters: Pam Davis and Val Barrett. He is also survived by 2 nieces: Jamie Tarver and Kendra Oakes; and 1 nephew: Phillip Swindler.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. David was a truly genuine human being who will be missed my many.
