David L. Snook, 61, of 729 11th St. NE, died Monday (May 3, 2004) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. NW, with Rev. Sarah Rohret Odoom officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church Wednesday one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the David L. Snook Memorial Fund. David was born December 29, 1942 in Mason City the son of Leonard H. and Elizabeth (MacCorkendale) Snook. He graduated from Mason City High School. David married Janice Willemsen November 10, 1961 in Sioux Falls, SD. David worked for Oliver White Farm Equipment in Charles City from 1962-1981. He most recently worked for Key Wholesale Building Supplies. David was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, enjoyed working on his 1931 Ford Roadster, fishing, woodworking, camping and his love for animals, especially his dog, Sadie. David is survived by his wife, Janice A. Snook of Mason City; daughter, Kimberly Ellman and husband Randy of Rudd; son, Michael and Sandy Snook of Charles City; grandchildren, Chad, Nicole, Derrick, Ashley, Justin, David, Jennifer and Jason; great grandchildren, Anthony, Marrissa and a little boy who will be born in July named Zack; brother, James Snook and wife Maureen of Mason City; sister-in-law, Betty Snook of Mason City; many nieces, nephews and friends; dog, Sadie. David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur; sisters, Carol Mariner and Margaret Hartwell; brother in infancy, Stanley; grandson, Dustin.
