Damon Richard Cory

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Damon Richard Cory, 40, of Minneapolis, died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at his home. A celebration of Life gathering will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Moose Lodge, 22 4th Street NW, Mason City. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place with private family inurnment to follow at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Damon Cory Memorial Fund.

Damon was born July 23, 1974 the son of Richard and Billie (King) Cory. After graduating from Mason City High School in 1992, Damon worked at Godfathers Pizza, Principal Financial and Fastenal. He loved life, music, nature and travel.

Damon is survived by his mother, Billie Cory of Mason City; father, Richard (Kim) Cory of Mason City; brother, Ben (Lisa) Cory of Cedar Falls; sister, Lindsey (Chris) Schultz and their daughter, Whitney of Mason City; special friend, Heidi Bruce of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandmothers, Ruth King of Mason City and Helen Bergmann of Mason City; many extended family and friends.

Damon was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jack King; paternal grandparents, Herman “Skeeter” and Gwen Cory; uncle, Mike Cory and aunt, Judy Winfrey.
