Coral J. English

Coral J. English, 81, of Mason City, IA, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, where her son Mark passed 30 minutes later. A Memorial service will be held for both Coral and Mark at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, with Pastor Ed Bard, Hospice of North Iowa Chaplain officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the memorial service.

Coral Jeanne (Grant) English was born August 24, 1933 in Mason City, IA the daughter of William and Grace (Thiesfield) Grant. She attended Mason City High School before moving on to a beauty school. Coral was married and from this union Coral had three sons, Kirk, Mark, and Bill. Later on she married Max Cree and no children were born in this union, Coral and Max later divorced. Coral was a jack of all trades, working as a beautician and waitress before becoming a certified nursing assistant at Good Shepherd for 16 years until her retirement. Coral met the love of her life, Ralph Johnson, where they lived in Mason City for 15 years till his passing. Coral was a talker who was known for her baking of pies and caramel corn.

Coral is survived by 2 sons: Kirk (Tracy) English of New Richland, MN, Bill (Dawn Branstad) English of Mason City; 6 grandchildren: Kristina English of Mason City, Stephanie English of New Richland, MN, Heather English of New Richland, MN, Allison English of Rochester, MN, Elizabeth English of New Richland, MN, Josh English of Mason City; 8 great grandchildren: Kendra, Grace, Aimee, Avah, Owen, Kayden, Ellie, and Karter; and 1 sister-in-law: Helen Grant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, love of her life Ralph Johnson, brother DeWayne Grant, sister Dixie Lions, and her 2 cats.
