On September 24, 1951, she married Dale A. Krueger in Mason City. Connie worked for AT&T for many years before becoming employed with US West. She was contacted by the Library of Congress requesting a copy of her original letters for real time historical records of the Korean War. The book is also featured and available for purchase at the USS Pine Island Museum in New York. Connie is survived by 2 sons: Dale Warren Krueger of Green Oaks, IL and Alan Dean Krueger of Mason City; 3 grandchildren: Jacob, Rachel and Aron Krueger; 1 brother: Elmer Tobias Ellison of Atlanta, GA; and her close friend: Francis Randall and husband Ray of Mason City.
