Clifford G. 'Kip' Trudo

Clifford G. Kip Trudo, 92, of Mason City died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 29, 2010, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Visitation will be at Wesley United Methodist Church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd Street Southeast, Mason City, IA 50401. Kip was born April 5, 1918, in Mason City, the son of Alex and Kathryn (Rush) Trudo. He attended school in Mason City. On September 27, 1938, he married Ruth Clark in Mason City. Kip worked for the Northwestern States Portland Cement Company for 32 years. He loved his post retirement job with the Escondido California Police Department for 13 years before moving back to Iowa. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Kip was a family man, who enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed attending the monthly retirement luncheons. Kip liked helping others and was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa for many years. Kip is survived by his wife of 72 years: Ruth Trudo of Mason City; son: Cliff Trudo and wife Patti of Murfreesboro, TN; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Cindy Trudo of Montgomery, IL. His is also survived by 2 special nieces: Bonnie Bernemann and Sharon Olsen, both of Mason City, as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Clark Trudo; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
