Cleo M. Eldridge

MASON CITY - Cleo M. Eldridge, 83, of 822 - 9th St. S.E. died Monday, December 26, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services for Cleo will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December, 29 2005 at the Rolling Acres Free Methodist Church, 604 ? 23rd Street SW with Pastor Larry Day officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Rolling Acres Free Methodist Church. Cleo Mildred Shreckengost was born May 7, 1922 the daughter of John and Jennie (Christie) Shreckengost in Mason City. She attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. Cleo worked at Norwest Bank in Mason City for 29 years. She was united in marriage to Eugene Eldridge on February 14, 1981 in Mason City. Cleo was a member of Rolling Acres Free Methodist Church all her life where she served as the Sunday School Secretary and was a past church treasurer. Cleo enjoyed cats and children, she and her brother Cecil would have sleigh rides and hay rides at the farm for young people. She was also a hospital volunteer and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Cleo is survived by her step-children, Richard Eldridge and wife Judy of Mason City, Shari Proscovec and husband Richard of Mason City, Ronald Eldridge and wife Judy of Arvada, Colorado, Randal Eldridge and wife Donna of Mason City, Rod Eldridge of Ames and step daughter-in-law, Terry Eldridge of Mason City. She is also survived by her step grandchildren: Keri Retterath and husband Bill of Mason City, Todd Eldridge and wife Amber of Mason City, Candy Proscovec and fiancé Ben Alberto of Mason City, Jeff Eldridge of Arvada, Colorado, Cheryl Eldridge of Arvada, Colorado, Chad Eldridge of Mason City, Angie Dickinson and husband Rod of Mason City, Sara Eldridge and fiancé Shane Authier of Mason City, Bob Eldridge of Mason City, Brad Eldridge and wife Denise of Mason City and Mindy Swift of Council Bluffs; 24 step great grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Roby of Olathe, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, and one step-son, Robert Eldridge, brothers and sisters: Rachel Shreckengost, Fern Baughman, Helen Sorensen, Cecil Shreckengost, Howard Shreckengost and Orin Shreckengost. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
