Clemence Clem Welch

Clem Welch, 88, of Kanawha, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday (July 16, 2005) at the Grace Baptist Church, Corwith, Iowa, with Rev. Gary Reischauer officiating. Inurnment will be in Amsterdam Cemetery, Kanawha. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa. Clem Welch was born January 24, 1917 in Duelm, Minnesota, the son of Peter P. and Frances (Bias) Wolch. Clem was an avid collector of model trains and cars. He was also a very skilled Upholsterer. He was a life long member of the American Legion Post # 428, Waite Park, Minnesota and was a long time resident of Kanawha. Clem is survived by his children; sons, Douglas Welch and wife Janet of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dennis Welch and wife Paula of St. Cloud, Minnesota; daughters, Renee Fuchs and husband Ervin of Lakeville, Minnesota, LuWann Jacobs and husband John of Annandale, Minnesota, Noreen ?Cricket? Robinson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; step-sons, Tim and Bill Hill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jared Anderson of Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five step grandchildren; two brothers Art and Dick of Minnesota and two sisters Tech of Minnesota, and Margie of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence Welch of thirty years, wife, Alice Welch of seventeen years; daughter, Beverly Kallsen; and one sister Irene.
