Clarice Williamson

Clarice F. Williamson, 100, a resident of the IOOF Home in Mason City, died Saturday, May 25, 2003, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Reverend Bill Poland officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, and for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church or to the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Clarice was born May 19, 1903, in Earlham, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Bechtel) Gannon. She graduated from Earlham High School, and on September 17, 1927 she was united in marriage to George H. Williamson at Adel, Iowa. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Clarice enjoyed playing cards and crocheting, but her greatest joy came from visits from her daughters and grandchildren. Clarice is survived and lovingly remembered by: Daughters: Carol King and her husband Duane ?Bud? of Mason City Marlene Oswood and her husband Wayne of Mason City Judith Philips and her husband Don of Aurora, Colorado Grandchildren: Thomas Younke of Mason City Laura Payer and her husband Rick of Mason City David Younke and his wife Denise of Cedar Rapids Terry King and wife Lois of Duluth, MN Julie Fox and her husband Frank of Mason City Jon Oswood and his wife Michele of Cedar Rapids Janine Petitgout and her husband Craig of Coralville, IA Matthew Philips and his wife Kady of Aurora, CO Lisa Philips of Aurora, CO Great Grandchildren: Andrew and Linsay Beavers, Johnathon Payer, Lucas and Caleb Younke, Tyler, Kaitlin, Carter Oswood, Sidney and Rylee Petitgout, and Emily, Anna, and Sarah King Many nieces and Nephews, as well as many friends Clarice was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, and her sisters: Grace Fry, Naomi Stubbs, Ruth Smith, and Ruby Olsen.
