BONITA SPRINGS, FL: It is with great sadness that Christopher Pennington, 36, of Bonita Springs, FL formerly of Mason City, IA, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 in Bonita Springs, FL. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the St. John’s Episcopal Church, 120 1st Street NE, with the Rev. Kris Leaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA.

Christopher was born in Waterloo, IA on May 27, 1980 to Debra (Johnston) Quayle and Randall Pennington. He attended Mason City High School and graduated in 1999. He then went on to study at NIACC. Christopher moved to Florida and worked at Bank of America for many years. He later worked in the hospitality field, as he loved people. You could always see a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face.Chris enjoyed time with his friends. He had a huge heart and was always there for them, as they were also for him. He loved days on the beach, shelling with his daughter or just listening to music he loved. He was a passionate music lover, singer and guitarist and loved reading and writing poetry and journals.Chris will be remembered by all for his huge smile, joking spirit and his passion for life. But most of all, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted father to his two children, Cayden and Mia. They were his world, his life.

Christopher leaves his loving memories to be cherished by: his mother, Debra (Johnston) Quayle and step-father Raymond Quayle, his father, Randall Pennington and step-mother, Mitzi Pennington, loving son Cayden Starnes and adoring daughter, Mia Pennington. Chris will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Charles Spear and Ryan Pennington; paternal grandmother, Betty Pennington. He will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gordon Pennington; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and LaVonn Johnston and 1 cousin, Tessa Phillips.
