Carol A. Rohde, 63, of Mason City, died Monday, November 7, 2011 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, with Rev. Kent Mechler, Chaplain Good Shepherd Health Center, officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM on Wednesday (November 9, 2011) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the Carol A. Rohde Memorial Fund in care of the family, 4-3rd Street NW #236, Mason City, Iowa 50401. Carol was born on April 9, 1948, in Waseca, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest and Jeanne M. (Engel) Leaver. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1966. In 1976, Carol moved to Mason City. She worked in several retail sales jobs and public service jobs over the years. On December 30, 1983, Carol married Harold Rohde in Mason City. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed arts & crafts, cooking, and baking. She is survived by her husband of 27 years: Harold Rohde of Mason City; her daughter, Gina Bullock of Washington State, and her children: Megan and Robert Sweetser; her son: Troy Leewright and wife Debbi of Manly, IA, and their children: Garrett and Natalie Leewright; step-daughter, Lisa Rohde of Austin, Minnesota. She is also survived by a niece: Stacy Gallagher and husband Chuck of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Joni Gallagher.
