Bonnie Jean Marker, 81, of 1930 Shelby Road, Redding, CA, formerly of Mason City, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Northern California Rehab Hospital in Redding. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 3, 2007, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware, with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Major Erickson Funeral Home and continue at the church one hour before services on Monday. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mason City or Trinity Lutheran School, 2440 Hilltop Drive, Redding, CA 96002. Bonnie was born September 8, 1926, in Mason City, the daughter of Bernard and Marie (Russell) Buckland. Bonnie was raised by her loving father Joseph Buckland. Bonnie was baptized and after marriage to Ralph was confirmed and became a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was an active member of LWML, ladies circles, and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Bonnie attended Trinity Lutheran Church while living in Redding, CA. Bonnie married Ralph Marker on Oct. 23, 1942, in Glenview, Minn. She worked for 27 years in Mason City Public School cafeterias and retired as manager from Hoover School cafeteria in 1988. Bonnie was a loving and wonderful mother to Michael and Ann and a devoted and loving grandmother to Misty. She touched the lives of many nieces, nephews, and friends who lovingly celebrated her life. Bonnie?s main interest over the years revolved around her church activities both in Mason City and Redding, CA. She participated in the ?Red Hats? in Redding. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Ann Westin and husband, Larry of Redding, Calif; granddaughter, Misty Westin, Davis, Calif; daughter-in-law Susan Skille, of Long Beach, Calif; brother Lynn ?Russell? Buckland and wife Elizabeth of West Des Moines; brother Gene Buckland and wife, Patsy, of Pontiac, Ill; sister Elsie Hampton and husband, Paul, of Pharr Texas: sister Joan Sutcliffe and husband , Richard of Horseshoe Bend, Ark; sister-in laws Frieda Perrett of Boulder, Co; Lorraine Marker of Manly, Ia: June Ballantyne of Clear Lake, Ia; Helen O?Harrow of Lake Oswega, Ore; brother-in-laws James Marker and wife Melba, of Northwood, Ia; Jacob ?Jake? Marker and wife, Ann of Story, Ark.; and Richard Marker and wife Marilyn, of Springfield, Mo; and brother-in-law Ed Roggemann of Waterloo, Ia; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
