Blenn L.H. Betts, 33, of 424 7th Street NW, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa of a severe asthmatic attack. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 6, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church, 100 South Pierce Avenue, with Rev. John Butler officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Blenn L. H. Betts Memorial Fund. Blenn L.H. Betts was born May 15, 1973 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Ronald D. and E. Dianne (Robinson) Clute. Blenn grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. On May 28, 1995 Blenn was united in marriage to Robert Betts at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Robert and Blenn met in middle school and had been together for 23 years. Blenn was employed by Yaggy Colby Associates and had also worked at KGLO and Hy-Vee where she had many special customers. She enjoyed reading, writing, the dolphins of the sea, and spending time with her family and friends. On March 24, Blenn was able to celebrate her brother Dan?s first child?s 1st birthday with all family gathered together which was very special. She was also a wonderful caretaker for her two nephews and one niece as well as for all of her friend?s children. As an organ donor, Blenn has saved 103 lives, which has touched over 808 people in their extended families. Blenn is survived by her husband, Robert Betts of Mason City; parents, Ronald and Dianne Clute of Mason City; brother, Dan and wife Toni of Clive, Iowa; parents-in-law, Kaye and Pat Betts of Mason City; sister-in-law, Tonya Hickman and husband Shannon of Mason City; aunt, Judy Thompson of Fort Dodge; two nephews, Grant Clute of Clive, Iowa, Aaron Hickman of Mason City; niece, Evelyn Hickman of Mason City; two step-daughters, Aubrey and Alex; Robert?s grandfather, Melvin Hackbart of Osage, IA; many cousins and special friends made while working at Yaggy Colby Associates, KGLO, and Hy-Vee. Blenn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Earl and Margaret Clute and her maternal grandparents, Larry and Dorothy Jean Robinson.
