She then attended the University of Iowa where she received her degree in Social Services. She was involved in social work all of her adult life working for the last 32 years for Opportunity Village in Clear Lake. She felt that working at the Village was part of her mission of serving the Lord. She desired to create the best home situation for her clients. She cared deeply for each client and would go out of her way to make sure that they were cared for, safe, and that their needs were being met physically and spiritually. She loved working with the disabled and had a special heart for each of the people that she helped throughout her long career as a social worker. Bev was a devout Christian who loved discussing the Word of God and who enjoyed quality fellowship time with friends and family. She was an ardent reader of Christian literature and had a passion for always learning more about the plans of God for her life and others. She was also very active politically in the Mason City Chapter Republican Party, serving as co-chair and treasurer for many years. She is survived by her sister, Karen (Lynn) Wee, of Spencer, a niece, Kristel Lunsman, of Burlington, a nephew Kraig Lunsman, of Burlington, and a grand niece, Miya Lunsman, along with several cousins and numerous friends who will miss her feisty spirit. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her brother, Kenneth, and sister-in-law, Kathy. Bev will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Those that knew her and loved her know she is dancing on the golden streets of Heaven singing “I am Home.”
