Beulah O. Blum

Beulah O. Blum, 91, of Rockwell, IA, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2016, at the Hanford Community Church, 12411 Spruce Avenue – Mason City, with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Hanford Community Church. Interment will take place in the Rockwell Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Beulah Blum memorial fund in care of the family.

Beulah was born January 29, 1924, in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of William H. and Esther (McLaughlin) Wike. She moved to Iowa as a child and graduated from Rockwell High School in 1941. On September 4, 1943, Beulah was united in marriage to Dean Blum at her parents’ home in Rockwell. Beulah was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, writing letters, crocheting and traveling (50 states). She also enjoyed entertaining and had a gift for hospitality. She was a member of the Hanford Community Church where she taught Sunday and Bible School. She was also a member of the Bath Homemakers Club, Rockwell Cemetery Society and the Rockwell Community Nursing Home Advisory Board.

Beulah is survived by 3 children: Carol Stadtlander and husband David of Sheffield, IA, Barbara Pietersen and husband Robert of Champlin, MN, and Duane Blum and wife Chris of Mason City; 6 grandchildren: Michelle Thompson and husband Lance, Mark Stadtlander, Michael Pietersen and wife Brooke, Barry Pietersen, Nicole Blum and Amanda Blum; 7 great grandchildren: Cody, Clay, Briana, Corissa, Taylor, Brandon and Blake; and 1 sister: Shirley Fuller of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; grandson: Kevin Stadtlander; brother: William Wike; and sister: Darlene Tickal.
