MASON CITY: Betty J. Templeton, 82, of Mason City, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Nora Springs Care Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the First Covenant Church, Hwy 122 at South Ohio with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa. Betty was born May 29, 1932 in Mason City the daughter of Albert and Josephine (Cummings) Andrew. She married James “Loyd” Templeton December 12, 1948 in Clear Lake. Betty was a lifelong resident of Mason City. She was a member of the First Covenant Church and enjoyed serving in her church, playing bridge and visiting with friends and family. Betty is survived by 2 sons, Dennis (Julie) Templeton of Mason City and Jamie Templeton of Columbia, Missouri; granddaughters, Angela (Jason) Krage of Sioux City and Amanda (Chris) Merches of Mason City; 2 great granddaughters, Vail and Violet; 1 brother, Richard (Sharon) Andrews of Evans, Colorado. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
