Barbara L. MacDougall

MASON CITY Barbara L. MacDougall, age 79, of Mason City, died peacefully Monday, November 16, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. James Magelssen officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lime Creek Nature Center.

Barbara was born July 24, 1930, in Altadena, CA, the daughter of Eugene and Rachel (Young) Keith. She proudly retired as an accountant from Senderex Cargo in Los Angeles, CA. Her greatest joy in life was being mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She actively participated with her children in boy scouts, girl scouts, and Jobs Daughters and was always readily standing by with her camera. She was a very giving person and volunteered a lot of her time to the Lime Creek Nature Center, Music Man Square, Crime Stoppers, Wa-Tan-Ye, and RSVP. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and was a great marksman. Her favorite place to visit was Yosemite National Park and she loved spending time there with her children.

Barb is survived by her children, Sharon (Raymond) Keay of Fort Collins , CO, Craig (Teresa) MacDougall of Mason City; grandchildren, Chrisy (Cody) Williams and their children Stew and Ansley of Mason City, Phillip MacDougall of Mason City, Katrina Keay and her son Tristen of Fort Collins, CO; brothers, Eugene Keith, Jr., Ronald Keith, both of California; and special friends, Cathy and Gary Milikan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Sean.
