Ardis Suzanne Paulson, 74, of 1435 N. Quincy Ave., Mason City, went to meet her God Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM January 29, 2007 at the First Christian Church, 318 North Adams, with the Pastor Charles Aurand officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mason City Public Library, to be used in the large print book section. This was a great source of enjoyment for her. Ardis was born in Mason City on February 14, 1932 to Gaylord and Viola Corinne (Murray) Hegland. She was raised by her grandmother Ella Gardner. She attended First Christian Church as a child and was baptized on April 9, 1944 and has been a lifelong member. She attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School in 1950. She worked at several local stores before returning to NIACC to receive her Business Diploma. After finishing school at NIACC on January 1, 1980, she went to work for the Materials Dept. for the Iowa Department of Transportation. She retired March 31, 1995. She always said the things that made the job so great, was the people she worked with. Ardis married Bob L. Paulson on August 11, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Mason City, to this union four children were born; John, Ronald, Wendy and Nancy. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She is survived by her husband, Bob L. Paulson of Mason City; children, John L. Paulson and wife Janice of Forest Lake, MN, Ronald A. Paulson of Roseville, MN, and Nancy L. Paulson of Clear Lake; great grandchild, Katelyn Star Mann; brothers, Edward G. Lembcke of Hampton, VA, Max Hegland and wife Gloria of Mason City; sister, Rosella M. Crandall and husband Leonard of Waterloo, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Wendy and brother, Joe Hegland.
