Anthony ?Tony? Pals, 54, of 1594 N. Carolina Avenue, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at home after a long illness surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Tony Pals Memorial Fund. Tony was born September 26, 1951 in Belmond, Iowa the son of Edward and Margaret (Dougherty) Pals. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1969. Tony married Nadine Quitney June 24, 1972 in Mason City. Tony was a self-employed contractor and farmer for many years. Later he was a partner in Custom Concrete Contractor of Mason City. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Tony enjoyed snow skiing in Colorado, boating, muscle car and races, baking, especially chocolate chip cookies and loved being with his family and friends. Tony was a devoted and proud family man, husband and father. His contagious laughter could fill any home. He made everyone welcome and his generosity was never ending. Tony is survived by his wife, Nadine of Mason City; 2 sons, Jarrod and Derek Pals of Mason City; grandson, Ethan Pals; granddaughter, Zoe Pals; brother, Dennis Pals and wife Joan of Mason City; sister, Kathy Scherffius and husband Frank of Burlington, Kansas; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Connie Quitney of Mason City; many sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Margaret Pals; nephew, ?JJ? Pals and son, Daniel in 2004.
