Alzina M. Miller, 96, of Mason City, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Heritage Care Center. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday (January 27, 2007) at First United Methodist Church WAYside Chapel, 119 South Georgia, with Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the WAYside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa or First United Methodist Church. Alzina was born January 31, 1910 in Lampman Saskatchewan, Canada the daughter of Theodore and Mathilda (Benz) Johnson. She moved to the United States with her family at the age of two. She attended schools in rural Algona. She was married to Henry Miller on February 14, 1929 in Rockford, Iowa. Alzina and her husband farmed many different places in the area through the years and eventually moved to Mason City. She owned and operated the Maid Rite in Clear Lake for five years in the 1960?s. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge and 500 and was an active member of the Senior Citizens. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and she always enjoyed when her family grew. She enjoyed flowers and also gardening. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. Alzina is survived by her children, Don Miller and wife Betty Jo of Mason City, Jerald Miller and wife Rita of Hayfield, MN, Allen Miller and wife Darlene of Hayfield, MN; twelve grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, seventeen step great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lavonne Toner of Dubuque, IA, sister, Florence Gregory of Dakota City, IA; brother, Theodore Johnson and wife Betty of Lu Verne, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Miller; two brothers; four sisters and grandson, Terry Miller and Henry Miller.
