Mason City ? Alliene E. Ibbotson, 84, of Mason City died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services for Alliene will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Ron Stein of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be held in the Rock Falls Cemetery, Rock Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa. Alliene was born April 10, 1921 in Grinnell, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Lottie (Brownlie) Simmons. She graduated from Grinnell High School and also from the Burlington Jr. College Nurse?s Training Program. She married Donald B. Ibbotson on December 25, 1940 in Kahoka, Missouri. Alliene?s hobbies included sewing, crafts and playing cards. She also enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Dennis E. Ibbotson and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Marilyn K. Stayner and husband Grayling of Northwood; grandchildren, Heather Kimmel and husband Bill of Prairie Village, Kansas; Nicolle Hodges and husband Jacob of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and April Stayner of Northwood, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Bo and Riley Kimmel and Fallon Hodges; sisters, Mary Harvey of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Louise Kilby of Caldwell, Idaho; brother, Donald Simmons of Decatur, Iowa; She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Major Erickson Funeral Home (641)423-0924 is in charge of arrangements.
