Timothy Patrick Dunn

Tim Dunn, 64, of Mason City, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, from 5 until 7 PM with a scripture wake service starting at 7 followed by a rosary.

Timothy was born October 10, 1952 the son of Marion and Barbara (O’Connell) Dunn in Des Moines, Iowa. Following high school Tim continued his education at the University of Iowa earning his law degree. He went on to practice as a criminal defense attorney for over 30 years in the state of Oregon.

Tim enjoyed spending time reflecting and relaxing on long walks and hikes in the great outdoors, listening to classical music and late night talk radio or while reading a good book. He was a great cook and loved volunteering his time preparing meals for church and community activities. Tim was able to speak several languages and enjoyed working at KGLO radio reading the newspaper for those who’s sight was impaired. He also volunteered his time at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Tim always looked forward to the start of baseball season knowing the summer was underway.

Those thankful for having shared in Tim’s life include his two brothers, Frank Dunn of Des Moines, IA, John (Mary Kay) Dunn of Mesa, AZ; four nieces, Shawn Ferris, Sherilyn (Glen) Gross, Susan (Terry) Vriezelaar, Kjersten Davis; two nephews, Steve (Renee) Dunn, Keith Dunn; special friend, Miles Duck and numerous other family and friends.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents and many great pets over his life time.
