John Clayton Eppens

John C. Eppens, 69, of Mason City, IA, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Everyone is invited to attend a gathering at the family’s home, 2231 22nd St. SW, Mason City, Saturday May 12, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family of John Eppens.

John Clayton Eppens was born in Mason City on September 1, 1948 to parents Charles and Ruth (Clausen) Eppens. John graduated from Mason City High, after graduating he went on to hold positions at Armors, Unisys and AGP soybean processing plant. On June 13, 1970 John was united in marriage to Carolyn Lee at the First Baptist Church in Mason City. John was a simple man who enjoyed watching superhero movies, collecting cars, bowling, working in his shop and being outside.

John is survived by his wife: Carolyn; children: Craig Eppens significant other Jill Osmonson, Katie (Chad) Dorenkamp; grandchildren: Steven Eppens Austin, MN, Chloe Eppens significant other Parker Holland-Dunn, Josiah Eppens, Veruca Dorenkamp, Zoee Dorenkamp, Maggie Dorenkamp all of Mason City; 1 great grandson due this summer; brother: Dale (Barb) Eppens; brothers in-law Mike (Joan) Haag, Leonard Haag and his beloved dog Lady.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
